Qualifications for Position: Prior experience in A/V work. Additional experience in music or electronics preferred. Responsible for completing satisfactory work with little or no supervision. Flexibility with rapidly changing objectives and drifting event times. Good personal communication skills. Ability to lift heavy equipment and work in various environments Expected Duties and Responsibilities: Mix sound for concerts, conferences, and various student events. Complete office work as directed by the Director of Technology Services or the AV Events Specialist, including but not limited to doing inventory, soldering cables and connections, editing audio and video, and archive recordings. Attending weekly meetings and keeping track of work hours. Includes volunteering for jobs and checking with the Events Specialist to ensure hours are being completed on schedule. Audio/Video record events with close attention to quality. Arrange lighting for various events. Fulfill other such duties as assigned by the Director of Technology Services or the AV Events Specialist. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers and phones. Physical Demands Sitting: Remaining in the seated position Lifting: Raising or lowering an object from one level to another (includes upward pulling) 25-50 lbs. Fingering: Picking, pinching, or otherwise working primarily with fingers rather than with the whole hand or arm as in handling Talking: Expressing or exchanging ideas by means of the spoken word to impart oral information to clients or to the public and to convey detailed spoken instructions to other workers accurately, loudly, or quickly
